Issue: Uneven gum line on the two front teeth and a mismatch of color and translucency across the teeth, fillings, and crowns visible in the smile.
Solution: A minor gingivectomy to improve the gum line symmetry of the front two teeth, new crowns on the upper front four teeth, and veneers on the canines.
Issue: She was concerned about the continued loss of enamel that was becoming more noticeable on her back teeth as well as the chipping edges of her front teeth. Back teeth were becoming sensitive and she wanted to replace the missing molars as well. The nightguard she had been prescribed by a previous dentist was not stopping her teeth from wearing down and chipping so she wanted to fix the cause of the problem rather than treating just the symptoms.
Solution: A diagnostic plan was developed to replace missing teeth and improve her bite and function. This allowed us to rebuild the damaged teeth in a way that they could work together and not continue to chip and break down. This also allowed the teeth to be brightened and create the other changes to her smile she desired – check out the before and after changes in the chewing surfaces of the teeth in our Full Mouth Rehabilitation section.
Issue: Several genetically missing and undersized teeth led to years of temporary fixes that kept breaking. He desired a long term smile makeover option that wasn’t removable and would function without constant breaking and need for repair.
Solution: A combination of zirconia crowns and bridges were used on the upper teeth to correct the way they function with the bottom teeth, resize the teeth that were too small, and replace the teeth that were missing. Eventually the plan will be to perform a similar workflow on the bottom teeth to match the appearance of the uppers.
Issue: Crowded and rotated teeth, chipped edges on the two front teeth, and a general color darker than what she wanted.
Solution: Invisalign clear aligners were used to expand the narrowed upper arch and improve the rotations and overall position of the teeth. A combination of crowns and veneers were then used on the upper eight teeth to create the broader, brighter smile that she desired.
Issue: An old existing bridge was no longer esthetically acceptable to him. The midline of the two front teeth looked tilted and the space between the replacement teeth and the gums created a visible darkness in his smile.
Solution: The old bridge was removed and a new all ceramic bridge was made to straighten the midline, fill in the dark spaces, and create more natural appearing gum contours. The upper right canine and lateral incisor as well as the upper left lateral incisor are replaced by this bridge.
Issue: Upper front tooth had broken and was restored with a very large filling, rotated teeth, and color differences between several front teeth.
Solution: New all ceramic crowns on the front four teeth to create even brightness, shade, and correct rotations.
Issue: Discolored and dark natural teeth, decay along the gumline and around old fillings, several mismatched shades of old fillings.
Solution: Direct bonding placed onto the natural teeth to mask their darkness and restore the areas of decay, replace the failed old fillings, and create a much more even appearance.
Issue: Discolored natural teeth and mismatched colors, size, and shape of crowns that had been done over several decades .
Solution: Recreating the function and cosmetic appearance of the top arch with new all ceramic crowns.
Issue: A dysfunctional bite had created a lot of wear and chipping of the front teeth. She also desired to create a whiter smile while restoring the ideal edge position of her incisors.
Solution: Zirconia crowns on her upper front six teeth restored the ideal shape and correct function of those teeth. A uniform material and color also created a much whiter, but still natural, appearing smile.
Issue: Improperly angled front crowns, unnatural coloring of old crowns and bridge, asymmetrical tooth size, and visible areas of recession above old crowns.
Solution: New zirconia crowns and bridge to restore proper and natural appearance of the upper front teeth.
Issue: An unaesthetic mix of existing veneers on the front teeth made at different times coupled with a functional issue that continued to break the veneers on her upper right canine and front tooth.
Solution: Very conservative all ceramic crowns of a consistent and natural appearance were placed from canine to canine on the upper front teeth to restore the smile she desired.
